THE PYTHABACUS

The Pythabacus is an exciting, attractive math education and discovery tool that adults will enjoy as well as children. The Pythabacus provides for a one-to-one correspondence of numerical elements in a mathematical statement, and elements manipulated on the Pythabacus. The solution arrays reveal geometrical patterns related to numerical operations.

The Pythabacus is approximately 7X18 inches, made entirely of wood, with a natural finish. The frame is defined by a number of parallel running, spaced apart rods supported by end poles . Each rod contains a roll of beads, that slide along the rods, and push beads on the adjacent rods. The beads are arranged in a triangular configuration defining a base and two sides. The base rod contains ten beads and each ascending rod contains one less bead. As shown, the frame contains ten rods so that the base and sides of the triangle each have ten beads.

The Pythabacus is available, at this time, for 35.00 plus shipping. Discounts are available for orders of five or more. The Pythabacus is available unassembled for 30.00. Assembling the Pythabacus is a great project for upper elementary and middle school children. Discounts available for ten or more.

The Pythabacus comes with an instructional CD that includes a computer version of the Pythabacus. The CD may be purchased separately. Retailers may contact Pythabacus by email below to request a sample CD .
